Sport should be inclusive, easily understood, and accessible for beginners. Tennis is packed with great ideas, yet my reason for creating this website is its poor marketing. How can a casual tennis fan stay updated with every format?
The brief tennis off-season provides a chance to reflect on 2023 and explore how to attract more people to the sport. What improvements can tennis make? Which of these are actually feasible?
A key issue begins with tennis TV broadcasting. This year, many fans expressed disappointment with the transition from Amazon Prime to Sky Sports, complicating understanding which subscriptions are necessary for watching tennis.
Additionally, throw into the mix team competitions – the Davis Cup, Billie Jean King Cup, United Cup, Hopman Cup, to name a few – adds complexity. Furthermore, different tournaments often have varying rules, and purchasing tickets can be unnecessarily difficult for fans.
However, events like the ATP Next Gen finals introduce innovative ideas to engage younger audiences. What the sport lacks, though, is consistency. Not just consistency but also opportunities that are accessible internationally.
Our goal should be to highlight the positives of tennis, dispel confusion, and celebrate what makes Tennis one of the best sports in the world.
